The Lion Heart – Chandra Shekhar Azad
Today is the 112th birth anniversary of the Braveheart Revolutionary ‘Chandra Shekhar Azad’. He sacrificed his life for the country and is immortal in the history of Indian independence struggle.
Azad earned fame for the famous ‘Kakori Train Robbery’ in 1925 and for killing the ruthless Assistant Superintendent ‘Saunders’ in 1928..

We owe our freedom to our valiant freedom fighters like him who didn’t hesitate for once to sacrifice for the country. It is because of them that we can breathe the air of freedom today.

Azad was a master of disguises and evaded arrest by the British many times. ‘Dushmano Ki Goliyon Ka Saamna Hum Karenge, Azad Hi Rahe Hain, aur Azad hi Rahenge,’ were his famous lines.

Legendary Bhagat Singh joined Azad in the freedom struggle where all died young leaving their families to the nation’s care. Sadly their decedent’s today are living in abject poverty and neglect.

We fondly remember his valour with immense pride and acknowledge the sacrifice made by him during the freedom movement.
Jai Hind!
